Richard Wright, “The Man Who Was Almost a Man”: Scenario: What Will Happen to Dave in the Future?
Wright’s story ends with Dave jumping a train, and one wonders what Dave’s future may be. Imagine you were to write a sequel to the story--or perhaps even a movie script based on the story and its end. What, in your opinion, will happen to Dave after the train scene? What will he do and experience in the future?
In a journal entry of 1-2 pages (250-500 words), create a scenario of Dave’s future.
You may look at the immediate future (days or weeks ahead), or at a long-term projection of Dave’s future life.
