Advocacy has always been an important piece of the healthcare professional's role. But, with globalization, widening advocacy efforts have become increasingly important.

After completing the readings for this module, use your journal assignment to explain what global health is and how it relates to population health. Refer to the course outcomes and reflect on how they apply to your current or future profession. In relation to the patient or client, what is your role as a healthcare professional? What do you know and understand about advocacy? What opportunities for advocacy do you see in your current or future career?
