Introduction

1) Begin brainstorming about some events in your life that changed everything for you or that made you who you are today. Jot them down in a list.

2) Try to narrow your list to one event. It should be as specific as possible. Throughout this class, we'll be "making mountains out of molehills." (And I'll repeat that over and over. Sorry.) Start small and work your way to big claims. This goes for all your classes. If you start too big, you'll get overwhelmed.

3) Now begin to think about what perspective you'll tell your story from. In short, you may not use "first-person narration" in this project. Instead, you'll use "third-person," writing from the viewpoint of a narrator (which, frankly, is the easy way out), another character (a bystander, for instance), or an object. What are some options for you? How will each affect how the story is told?
