Should the ethical quest for the good political life be guided by a philosophical, religious, or scientific concern for the highest truth? Or should it be led by a quest for the most acceptable opinion? Is philosophical reason, religious revelation, historical experience, human needs, or societal preference the key to unlocking the mysteries of the good political life? Why or why not?
