Functional Areas of Business

Many people refer to different business functional areas as silos, groups that do not communicate with one another.

• Explain the importance of having good communication and work relationships between the functional areas of a business (i.e. marketing, operations, IT, etc.).
• Reflect on experience(s) as part of an organization.
• Describe an experience in which the functional areas of the organization worked together to produce a positive result, providing examples of areas that worked together.
• Describe an experience in which the functional areas of the organization did not work well together, providing examples of the results.
