intro
Introduce yourself to the class. Using the STAR method of inquiry (see below), share an experience of a time you experienced an information systems outage and how it was handled. The outage could be something as simple as your computer crashing, or being stuck at an airport when their system was down, or finding yourself in a city when all the electricity had gone out. If you have not experienced a situation like this directly, answer the STAR questions from the point of view of a friend, colleague, or family member who had such an experience. Respond to at least two of your classmates’ introductions and get to know your peers!
The STAR method of inquiry:
- Situation: What was the information technology (IT) challenge being faced?
- Task(s): What were you trying to do/achieve when the problem occurred?
- Action: What did you do to get your task completed? Were there alternatives?
- Result: How did your effort/action turn out?
