Intervention Plan Practice #2: Goal Setting

According to Lopez (2013), a clear way to get students invested in the learning process is to create individual goals with them. As you prepare this assignment, consider how goal setting impacts student buy-in, learning, and growth. These considerations will be included again as you prepare your Student-Centered Intervention Plan Final Project in Week Six.

Prepare

Connection

Each week you are building your knowledge and skills associated with intervention to apply what you are learning to an original learner and intervention plan during Week Six.

Write

Add to the following components in the template you began in week two. Keep the sections previously completed and include any revisions you’ve made based on feedback you’ve received since week two.

  • Template section #7: Monitoring- Describe how you would use these goals to help monitor progress on the intervention.
  • Template section #8: Goal Setting- Describe how you would utilize goal setting with Kevin (Scenario A) or Jane (Scenario B).
  • Reflection- Describe the rationale of why goal setting is a critical attribute for growth and intervention. Include how you have seen goal setting and monitoring apply in your own work context.
