Marketing Plan -Executive Summary

Market Demand

The demand for a locally produced and sold natural organic cosmetics line is based on an ‘expert opinion’ approach. With research of the Swiss culture and values, we can predict that a natural based product is more likely to be successful rather than a heavy chemical product.

In Market Opportunities, it states “Consumers in Switzerland hold excellent value to ‘natural’ or ‘organic’ products from their food consumption to their beauty regimen. This is taken a major shift in the way marketers' market to this booming segment of ‘chemical conscious’ consumers”

Companies that market in Switzerland must remain transparent of ingredients in their products and the potential risks or reactions regarding the ingredients or process. Sea Breeze Cosmetics will benefit from the transparency of the ingredients and ensure cultural value for the vast organically focused consumer.

Mode of Entry

The best approach for Sea Breeze cosmetics is to be a Full Ownership company/product. This will benefit our product launch in Switzerland by ensuring Swiss consumers the localization of the products. Also, the country-of- origin effect can be benefited by the Swiss high standards for transparent product ingredients.

As mentioned in Place “This will benefit the natural cosmetic industry by being manufactured in the country of origin which is known for valuing these attributes” With Full Ownership, Sea Breeze cosmetics will strive to be top of the market within the luxury cosmetic industry. By having an owned and operated boutique style shop, this will give the Swiss consumers an insight of a ‘locally’ produced luxury product. This experience within the shop will justify to the consumer that Sea Breeze aligns with the cultural values.

Segmentation

Switzerland’s commonality of Power Distance within their country values, embracing an ‘equal rights’ perspective, suggest we use the aggregate, country-level segmenting process. We will market Sea Breeze in a simplistic and inclusive way, highlighting the ‘natural,’ ‘organic’ and ‘local’ characteristics of our brand.

The ideal consumer for Sea Breeze is both the French and German speaking regions of Switzerland. In Purchase Behavior of Cosmetic Consumers in Switzerland, its stated “The French region is shown to purchase cosmetics as a ritual of self-care. The German region is driven by social pressure to focus on appearance”

These purchase behaviors are great for our product to reach a broader spectrum of consumers. Marketing towards the habitual beauty shopper, and the necessity beauty shopper.

Product

To market our product for each of the language regions we must adjust certain traits to focus on for our targeted consumer. For example, in Product within the Marketing Mix it’s stated, “By keeping a classic yet elegant look, the French region consumers will gain the pampered feel they are searching for. With natural organic ingredients listed, German region consumers will gain confidence in their beauty routine“

Price

By using the price index equation, we can see the estimated raise in price we can give to our consumers in Switzerland. This is also possible because of the higher income within the country and high disposable income. We can also see in the Price section of the report it states “by using the price index as sell at the amount of small-scale fl. oz.” Which is describing the price being higher in Swiss and also selling at a smaller amount versus the US.

Price Index Equation: $98−$48 / $48+1 = 2.04

Place

The distribution of Sea Breeze cosmetics is estimated to be successful based on a full ownership approach. The Natural Cosmetics Industry within Europe is growing exponentially. Stated in the Natural Beauty Industry, “In Europe alone, the cosmetic industry has risen 27% is global value”

With this product launch, a strength in our entry into the market is to be manufactured locally. This will increase the comfort in our consumers' purchase by being within a country that matches the values of the products (Natural, Domestic, Organic etc.).

Stated in Natural Beauty Industry, “Switzerland has an increase in demand for natural organic products, including cosmetics because of the transparency of harmful chemicals in everyday products.”

This will help our business in the long haul for maintain the Swiss change in product quality and adjustments for international products. To be manufactured in the country of origin, this also helps to avoid tariffs as well.

Promotion

Our product line will have to market towards our consumers with a linguistic conscious mindset. This is because of the division of two main languages being spoken in the country.

Also, the statements on the packaging will have to be slightly altered to fit the value styles of each region. The marketing will only vary between two styles of consumer purchase behavior, French “Sea Breeze is the perfect addition to your skincare ritual” the German being “Encourage healthy skin with Sea Breeze.”

In addition to the language and display of words on our products, our logo will have a picture of Edelweiss to keep the countries symbol imbedded into the brand. Along with the flower representation, a frosted Swiss alp will be featured on all packaging as -well.

“Sea Breeze Cosmetics, Natural Cosmetics” Feat. Edelweiss and Swiss Alps.”
