Technology experts and nurse informaticists are vital to healthcare institutions. They communicate with various professionals, such as administrators, nurses, physicians, and other IT personnel. Nurse informaticists frequently work with physicians and nurses to comprehend their requirements and difficulties. Using this data, they create or alter electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure they are intuitive to use and satisfy clinical requirements. Technology specialists and nurse informaticists teach medical professionals about new updates or systems. They also provide continuing assistance to fix any technological problems. The field of nursing informatics has long promoted the use of technology to advance the field. They provide data analysis that influences policy and enhances patient care, collaborating with administrators and other decision-makers (Booth et al., 2021).
Regular feedback meetings and communication sessions are a formality and crucial to enhancing relationships and improving technology systems. These sessions and recurring conferences provide a platform to discuss current initiatives, challenges, and advancements. An open-door policy further encourages employees to voice any issues or recommendations on the technology. Questionnaires or feedback forms are used to gather input on the effectiveness and usability of the systems. For instance, a nurse might express their struggle with a particular feature of an EHR system during a meeting or through a feedback form. This feedback is invaluable in improving productivity and user satisfaction. The nurse informaticist could then collaborate with technology professionals to streamline this feature, enhancing the system's usability. Digitalization transforms how nurses work and use knowledge and their working conditions (Kinnunen et al., 2023).
As technology becomes more integrated into healthcare, the need for clinical and IT personnel collaboration will become even more critical. This may lead to the formation of more multidisciplinary teams and collaborative decision-making. The rapid pace of technological development will necessitate continual education and training. As a result, nurse informaticists, technology specialists, and other staff members may engage with one another more frequently as they strive to stay current. The increasing availability of data will provide more opportunities for data-driven decision-making. This will likely lead to more frequent communication and collaboration between administrators, technology experts, and nurse informaticists as they analyze and understand this data. These interactions will likely increase as new technologies and nursing informatics evolve, necessitating more effective teamwork, learning, and data-driven decision-making (Peltonen et al., 2023).
