Integrated Theories: You Make the Call
Integrated Theories: You Make the Call
I believe that at this point in the course, you should all be experts in your own right on criminological theories. So, I want you to describe your own integrated theory of crime. You can model your theory off of those we're reading about in this Module, or you can create your own. But what I'd like you to do here is to take two or three theories of crime that we've studied thus far and explain how they relate to each other. For example, if a person feels strain over a blocked goal and has a low stake in conformity, is this person more or less likely to offend? If it helps, provide an example of a (potential) crime situation where multiple theories could be used to explain what the individual did.
