Purpose of Assignment

This week’s assignment places you in the position of HR Director. The assignment’s purpose is for you to explore labor unions and the pros and cons of what they offer as well as learn about the challenges non-union companies face when confronted with the possibilities of union efforts to organize employees at a company. This assignment will allow students to reflect on the evolution of unions in America and to consider whether unions continue to have a meritorious place in modern society. Finally, issues of collective bargaining are analyzed.
