Consider either the recent demands for secession in Barcelona or Scotland, and specifically the groups (the Catalans and the Scots) from the perspective of the approaches to ethnicity/nationalism (primordialism, constructivism, instrumentalism, and modernization).  What would the theories have to say about the ethnic group you selected?
