Please follow the opening arguments regarding the constitutionality of the Impeachment trial of President Trump either by watching the trial or reading summative coverage. In the discussion below, please present an argument of your own after consideration of both points of view--the impeachment managers vs Trump's counsel--in which you either support or oppose the trial moving forward on the basis of its constitutionality. The underlying question for current senators to consider follows: is the impeachment trial constitutional? Does the senate, under the constitution, possess the power to move forward on the impeachment trial even though former President Trump is no longer in office?
