Illustrator Color Palette

As a freelance graphic designer, you often work on multiple client projects at a time. Recently, you pitched your services to a potential client who is associated with the local chapter of the “Save the Tigers” campaign. They have asked you to share a mock-up of a color palette to see how it would look when applied to their most recent campaign poster. They have emphasized that the palette should be aligned with the intended message.

Directions

Using Illustrator, create and apply a color palette that matches the message of your potential client. Use the poster provided in the Supporting Materials section to create and apply the palette.

Also, write an email to your client explaining your reasons for choosing the palette.

Part One: Color Palette Using Illustrator, create and apply a color palette for the given scenario.

Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:

1. Create a color palette of five colors using Illustrator for the given poster.

· Include five square color swatches above or below the image in the given poster to indicate your color palette.

2. Apply the color palette to the given poster.

3. Save the colorized poster as a  PDF file.

Note: If you are having difficulty opening the poster in an editable format, please change your PDF file default setting to Adobe Acrobat DC (not Adobe Acrobat Reader). Making this change would not only allow you to edit the poster, but also annotate, combine, and lock the files, which may be useful for some of your future courses.

Part Two: Email Write an email to your client explaining your reasons for choosing the colors.

1. Provide a brief  rationale for your choice of colors in the palette.

· What type of palette have you created—monochromatic, analogous, complementary, etc.?

· Why did you choose this palette type?

· How does your color palette align with your client's cause?

· What emotions might your color palette evoke?
