2-Welcome to Week 4 of Principles of Humanities. This week we get to talk about the intersection of historical context, art, popular culture, and why we preserve memory or represent our lives. Why is this significant for generations then and now?

What do you think makes us fascinated by seeing art that is so old? I think it is that art bypasses our natural defenses and our gatekeeper, the CEO of our mind, the frontal lobe. Art speaks to us on a nonverbal and universal level with symbology and archetypes.
