Please make sure your paper includes at least TWO primary sources, does not matter if they both come from the museum or from Shmoop.
Secondary Source: The yawp (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site., the text we have used this entire semester, remains your secondary source. For this paper, you would do well to read chapter 30 and use it as a reference in your paper's analysis.
Citations: The vast majority of you have done excellently following the guidelines of Chicago style citations. Please ensure that your paper uses footnotes to cite sources and a bibliography as found in the course resources module.
Paper Format:
- Similar to Paper 1, this paper should be 750-1300 words, approximately, or 3-4 pages in length, double spaced. It does not need a cover page or a multiple line heading, your name and Panther ID at the top will suffice.
- A good paper will start with an introductory paragraph that gives context for your eventual thesis, which should be the last sentence or sentences of your introduction.
- The body of your paper should analyze your sources, analysis that proves the claim of your thesis.
- A conclusion begins by restating your thesis, and beyond that, summarizes the points made in the body. A conclusion can also include any moments of reflection or surprise in the essay, as well as pose rhetorical historical questions.
