Horney Discussion

I would like for you to some up with two sets of situations: One in which neurotic avoidance has negative effects, and one in which neurotic avoidance has positive effects, as discovered in Michael Robinson’s study. Make your lists individually, and then compare and discuss them within your group. Some of you might find that avoidance conferred benefits to you in certain situations, while others had a different experience in the same type of situation. Think about why these effects differ among individuals, depending on both context and personality.
