Scenario

The team was asked by a nonprofit to suggest venues for an art exhibition concerning environmental art. The client is especially interested in issues surrounding art movements which emerged in the 20th century, specifically the 1960s and early 1970s, whose purpose focused on celebrating the artists' connection to nature. They are unsure, however, whether to pursue a museum exhibition or a commercial gallery

Instructions

Create a three-part briefing document that consists of the following components:

1. Research Summary (1–2 pages)

· Compare museum and gallery models, addressing differences in:

· Institutional goals and funding

· Curatorial authority and artist involvement

· Audience engagement and expectations

· Sales/commercial implications

· Types of works typically shown

· Explain the model and justify why this setting best supports the work’s message, audience, and impact.

2. Artist Recommendations

· Identify three environmentally focused artists who are currently working within the parameters of the client’s purpose and could fit into this exhibition.

· Describe each artist’s work briefly to demonstrate alignment with the exhibition.

3. Contextual Recommendation (1 page)

· Choose either a museum or gallery setting as most appropriate for the environmental art exhibition.

· Design a visual prototype of an exhibition layout that reflects the chosen setting.

Submission Requirement

· Submit a Microsoft Word document
