TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Selected speakers are thinkers and doers recognized for their innovations, insights and efforts to make the world a better place.

You can search by themes (technology, entertainment, design, business, science, culture, arts, global issues...). You can search by a topic of your interest, such as psychology, sustainability, entrepreneurism, economics, animal husbandry, science and religion...). Or you can also order the talks by most favorited, emailed, jaw-dropping, persuasive, courageous, ingenious, fascinating, inspiring, beautiful, funny...

Choose and watch 5 speakers/talks. (presentations are each about 18 minutes). Do not choose music and art/poetry presentations.

Then write one paragraph on each of at least 3 of the talks you watched.

a. Tell me what they were about, why they were interesting, and how they inspired you.

b. Explain how their efforts have the possibility of ushering in positive change and affecting human nature to make the world a better place.

c. Relate their talks to ecological sustainability, global citizenship, human rights, responsibilities and ethics.

*  There are several good ones on animal behavior, including talks by:

Jane Goodall, Frans De Waal, Temple Grandin and others...
