Impact and Sustainability of Health Advocacy – Phase V

Submit the assignment by Sunday of Module 5.

In Phase V, you will assemble all the components related to the health topic/change initiative and reflect on the advocacy process, communication skills, setting priorities, and writing to inform or explain.

Create an 8- to 10-page paper (including the title and reference pages) in a Word document for your response.

Use APA format for the paper, title page, reference page, and in-text citations.

Create a title page and references page in APA format.

Develop an introduction and conclusion for your paper.

Phase V – Assembled

Part 1: Putting It Together

Step 1. Assemble

Assemble the summary report (Module 1), response (Module 2), and evaluation (Module 4) into a complete package related to the topic selected.

Step 2. Review for Gaps

Review the complete package to determine what might be missing, potential extensions, or new insights.

Part 2: Reflection

Step 3. Explain Impact

After reviewing, explain the impact of the selected topic/change initiative on your state, region, or local community. Provide appropriate citations and references.

Step 4. Reflect

In 2-3 paragraphs, reflect on the process of identifying needs, finding supporting research, and presenting information to support or change perspectives.

Address the questions:

What have you learned about the advocacy process and the role of communication in it?

How does setting priorities relate to advocacy (see Thinking Skills video), and why is informative/explanatory writing a useful communication tool for advocates (see Writing Skills video)?
