History Writing assignment

In the reading Lyndon B. Johnson: Foreign Affairs, the author looks at the Vietnam War from three lenses or perspectives: (1) a civil war between pro- and anti-South Vietnam government groups in the South; (2) a war of reunification waged by the North against the South; and (3) as part of a conspiracy by the Chinese-Soviet bloc to conquer the developing or Third World.  You are to select one of these approaches and write an essay justifying your position.
