History Midterm Essay

Directions: Please use 12 point Times New Roman Font.  Double-space your paragraphs.  If you upload your papers, please upload them in pdf format.  Essay should be between 1,200 to 1,500 words

Instructions:  In an essay that is at least 1,200 words in length, select 8 of the primary source readings for modules 1- 8 that we have read, and answer the following prompt for each: 

• Introduction
  • How are these documents related? (This is Your Thesis Statement)
• Each document should have a paragraph.  Each paragraph should answer:
  • What is the purpose or intention of the document?  How does this relate to the common theme you see in each document?
  • Identify what chapter section of the textbook the document is related.
  • How does the document help to better inform or illustrate the information that appears in the chapter section?
• Conclusion
  • Restate how each of the documents are related (rephrase your thesis)
  • Explain how this helps you to better understand U.S. since 1865.
