History Historical Figure and Justification Assignment

This week, you should submit a word document that identifies your selection for the semester-long biographical project. After that identification, the assignment should also justify your choice answering the following questions: 1) Why did you select this figure? 2) Why are they significant/where do they fit in Texas history?

Some things to keep in mind:

-Choose someone you are interested in--this project lasts a whole semester. If you choose someone you find boring, it will be tough to complete the project.

-Search something you are interested in + Texas history to find some individuals you could choose. For example, "Football players + Texas History"

- You can choose an ancestor/grandparent, but make sure you answer how your personal history connects to the context of Texas History

- Remember, a component of this project is creativity. There are so many biographies over figures like Sam Houston and Stephen F. Austin--Think outside of the box! It will make the project more fulfilling and exciting to complete.
