Please respond to ALL prompts below.

1. Please write a paragraph (approximately 200 words) in which you discuss the topic of your final paper. Your paragraph needs to include at least one research question that you hope to explore in your paper. 15 points

[ Example: I’m interested in writing my paper on Indigenous humor among the Haudenosaunee peoples in Central New York. The primary question I will investigate is how the survivors of boarding schools manage to cope with their intergenerational trauma through the practice of storytelling. As we learned from assigned readings and in-class conversations, many stories (including origin stories) shared by Haudenosaunee Elders have humorous aspects. Therefore, in this paper, I will specifically shed light on the following questions: What motivates them to retain and cultivate sense of humor in the face of ongoing adversities? How does humor help the storyteller/community become more resilient?]

2. Please discuss why your paper is relevant to at least one of the learning goals of this class (see p.1 of the course syllabus; approximately 150 words). 15 points

3. Identify two (2) sources that will be helpful for you to get your research started. Briefly introduce each source and explain how they are relevant to respond to your research question(s) (which you stated above) (100 words per item). 20 points
