Answer the following prompt:

" Analyze how California went from an outpost on the edge of the Spanish Empire to a region that is in many ways directly connected to and influences the rest of the world".

The essay must have a clear thesis statement.

1.The thesis statement should reflect your perspective or an incite you have on the prompt you choose to write about based on the class readings, participation in class discussions . The difference between opinion and perspective is the former is judging and the latter is analyzing.

2. The thesis statement must be supported by a minimum of 2 main points. 3 main points are recommended.

3.The main points must be supported by specific facts, data, and/or evidence.

4.All direct quotes, ideas, and facts pulled directly from a source, as well as all statistics, must be properly 

cited.

5.Both class notes and the class textbook must be cited at least once in the essay.

6.Use parenthetical MLA style citations with a citation page at the end of the essay.
