The colonies were set up to serve England as markets for manufactured goods, and suppliers of raw materials, the American colonists were subjects of the British Empire and were expected to pay taxes, as did all British citizens in the Empire. Do you believe the colonists were justified in protesting the taxes imposed by Parliament? In your opinion, what were their most successful tactics in these protests? Do you think the Colonists were justified in their use of violence? Why or why not?
