History

One thread running through our conversations during the first half of this course is the expanding role of federal government in peoples’ lives.  First, explain why and how government’s role expanded from 1877 through 1920.  Next, examine government’s impact on the lives of U.S. citizens.  Is this growing government good, bad or a mixed bag for the American people?  Explain.
