History

There are two parts to this essay.

1) Based on the required readings in Shi (text), compare & contrast the major events that brought the United States into World Wars I and II?  How did the European and Pacific events which preceded World War II (causing the United States to enter the war) differ?  What were the consequences of the events?

 2) Why do historians refer to the 1920s (in the United States) as a "cultural watershed."  Was FDR's New Deal effective at solving the problems of the Great Depression?  Why/why not?
