Look at the following for your notes:

• Who published this paper?
• At least two of the ads.  Who is doing the most advertising?  What is their motive for supporting this paper?
• At least two of the articles, and the map on the front page.  How accurately would you say these depict Colorado as you know it? 

Now, write a 300 word or more discussion on the following:  If you were an emigrant from back East who came across this paper, would you have been tempted to come to Colorado?  Would you have been surprised or disappointed when you got here?  What can be learned about Colorado history, or the history of the West, from this source?
