Historical Challenge 2-Visualizing Emancipation

 

The Digital Scholarship Lab was created by the President of the University of Richmond.  He is also a historian. It has lots of interactive sites that can provide all types of information.

First, glance at the map and offer your feedback.  What information can you get from looking at the map?  Then, please look at "emancipation event types" and "select abuse of AfricanAmericans."  Look at the types of abuses listed and pay particular attention if any are related to the New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania areas.  Write your observations of your findings and if you like using the DSL.
