 In what ways did paleolithic societies differ from one another? and how did they change over time? The Agricultural Revolution marks a decisive and progressive turning point in human history. What evidence might you offer to support this claim, and how might you argue against it? How did early agricultural societies differ from those of the paleolithic era? Was the Agricultural Revolution inevitable? Why did it occur so late? 

 What is dreamtime? How do these dreamtime stories illustrate the perspective that there is a lot of commonalities and diversity in the human experience? How do these dreamtime stories relate to the overall historical narrative of chapter 1?  How do they challenge it? How might the gathering and hunting lifestyle of these Australian peoples have shaped their cultural understandings as expressed in these stories and paintings? Does it make sense to assess technology as more or less advanced?
