Public education on the preventive measures, principally wearing a mask in public and enclosed spaces, was greatly emphasized before and after vaccination. How did consumer informatics play its role in having this message across the public? What role does social media play in sharing COVID-19 information with and among the public? In which ways do Patient Portals play a role in creating healthcare awareness, increasing health literacy, and imparting health education? What challenges were encountered by public health professionals in employing these tools? Were the tools effective and efficient? Why? What could have been done to minimize the negative effects?
