1. Explicit costs are those earned by the company that require an immediate cash outlay. Any time a production process is underway or an action is carried out as part of routine business operations, a cost is incurred. The cost is a fee for using production resources like land, labor, capital, and so forth. They take the shape of rent, wages, materials, and other payments. The implicit cost, also known as the economic cost, is the cost that the company avoided by taking the alternative course of action. They do not involve any cash outflow from the business. It is the value of the entity's sacrifice made while performing another action. When an asset is used as a factor of production by the entity rather than rented out, the cost occurs. Implicit costs have a direct impact on the company's profitability and performance. Interest on the owner's capital, salary to the proprietor, and so on are common examples of implicit costs. Explicit college costs include direct expenses such as tuition, lodging, fees, books, and transportation. Implicit costs include lost job earnings, the value of other time lost, and lost interest earnings. include the cost of watching TV, the cost of doing homework, and the money earned by working full-time.

2. I define an explicit cost of an item to have a price tag and that the price on that tag will be what consumers pay. Now, an implicit cost of an item is something that we can consider to be an opportunity cost. this means that it is not actually something you pay for but it plays a factor in the decision you may choose. For example, if we buy a laptop from Apple or Microsoft. Depending on which one we choose that is the explicit price which is the total cost of the item. The one we didn't buy is the implicit cost because it was a choice and a factor that made us choose the other.

The explicit cost of attending college are the tuition, books, dorms, and transportation. We can interpret the implicit cost of attending college as the lost income from working a job rather than attending college. We know that college has a lot of expenses that are not taken into consideration when attending or planning to attend. Many people have to make choices to live on campus or live off campus depending on the implicit cost. This is determined depending on which is more comfortable economically.
