For this week's group dialogue, please respond to the prompt stated below. Choose one of the "Fundamental Principles" listed in Section 3 of the textbook. Then, after carefully reviewing the grading rubric, complete the following (a good post will include additional genres):

● Summarize the principle that you chose in a manner that is clear, and is accurate to the text of Genesis 2-4.

● Identify and briefly explain at least one appearance of that principle in at least two of the six genres of Scripture. However, be sure to read the rubric for total number of genres that must be addressed to maximize your grade in this area.

○ Historical Narrative - Genesis, Exodus 1-19, Numbers, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, Samuel-Kings, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Daniel 1-6, Acts

Fundamental Principle God calls people to represent him and to be involved in his work of taking death and turning it into life. But people involved in ministry often assume authority that is not theirs. People in ministry often think they know how to interact with others with whom God is working. What we see with the knowledge of good and bad is that we simply do not have the capacity to be able to make proper assessments, to know when a particular action should be taken in contrast to another, or even whether an action should be taken at all. Yes, as God’s representatives, we have a responsibility. However, that responsibility should never be taken independently of the guiding of the Holy Spirit. We need to depend on him for proper understanding. We need to depend on him regarding whether we should do something or not. If he does call us to do something, we need to depend on him to show us the proper timing and approach. In any situation, there is always more going on than we can know. Therefore, when representing God in his work of turning death to life, we must be in complete dependence on the Holy Spirit for wisdom and guidance. Citation Style According to the Academic Catalog, “students are expected to follow the style handbook associated with the academic discipline of the course they are taking…the Turabian style manual is used in Biblical Studies and Christian Ministry courses.” Therefore, the writing style to be used in this course is Turabian. Regardless of references any other place throughout the Course Content to other writing styles, students in this class will use Turabian as their writing style. THIS GUIDANCE ALSO APPLIES TO DISCUSSION POSTS. If students reference or use the writings, ideas, thoughts, insights, etc of any other person, footnotes should be carefully documented in Turabian format so that students reading and responding to your discussion posts are able to tell exactly which thoughts and ideas are yours, and which thoughts, ideas and concepts come from

another person. If they are from another person, they need to be referenced appropriately in all cases. However, title page, table of contents, etc., are not required in Discussion Posts. Please Note: In this course, Turabian author-date style WILL NOT be used. This means students will not be using the styles in Chapters 18 & 19 of A Manual for Writers of Research Papers, Theses, and Dissertations by Kate L. Turabian. All students will use the Notes-Bibliography (footnotes or endnotes) and Bibliography style according to Turabian. (See Chapters 16 & 17 of the Turabian textbook.) This means all discussion posts must use footnotes for every reference cited. No bibliography is required in Discussion Posts.
