The Great Depression was one of the most signficant moments of the twentieth century, impacting millions of Americans over the course of many years.  Importantly, the Great Depression did not suddenly occur after the Stock Market Crash of 1929, but instead many people were experiencing depression-like conditions for over a decade.  In this essay, please describe two causes of the Great Depression and two examples of the "lived experience" during the depression.  Similar to the first assignment, one example must come from the lecture titled "The Dust Bowl."  For causes, you might talk about bank failures or loss of purchasing power, for instance.  For the "lived experience," you could talk briefly about "Hoovervilles," migration, farming, and the Dust Bowl (required).  You have many options to discuss here, so choose wisely and make a clear and concise argument.
