Group Dynamics

Group Creation: "Group Cohesion"

Students will continue the activity initiated in the previous module, "Hypothetical Creation of a Group," incorporating all the characteristics and elements discussed in class. This task is longitudinal, meaning it will be expanded as new elements of study are introduced throughout the course.

For this module, each student will write a paper that includes the following:

Part One:

Each student will answer the following questions in a well-supported manner:

· What characteristics of group cohesion does the created group possess?

· How are the following levels of cohesion observed in the group?

· Cohesion through interpersonal attraction

· Cohesion through shared goals

· Cohesion through group attraction

Part Two:

Each student will reflect on the various groups that exist in society, considering their behaviors, norms, ways of thinking, and discourse.

Students will then select one (1) group and analyze the group dynamics that take place within it. In the paper, they will address the following questions:

a. How does group cohesion benefit this group?

b. How does group cohesion affect this group?

c. In what ways does it affect the group?

What (a) behaviors, (b) ways of thinking, and (c) norms result in dynamics outside the group structure that may impact individuals outside the group?

Complete this task in your own words. If using reference sources, ensure citations are formatted in APA style.

Contribute a minimum of 2 pages. It should include at least 2 academic sources, formatted and cited in APA.
