Review the data you organized. Do federal government shutdowns seem to occur more frequently when there is divided government (one party controlling the presidency and another party controlling one or both chambers of Congress)?  Do the shutdowns seem to last longer when there is divided government versus when there is not?

Based upon what you have learned from this exercise, how much can we blame political polarization for government shutdowns?  What appears to be the root cause of the majority of shutdowns and how did you come to your conclusion?
