Over time, some acquaintances become our friends. Friends are people with whom we have voluntarily negotiated more personal relationships. Most of our interpersonal relationships fall into the categories of acquaintances or friends. Some friendships are context-bound. People often refer to their tennis friends, office friends, or neighborhood friends. Close friends are those that we share close, caring, and trusting relationships with.
