 PROCESS THEORIES FOR MOTIVATION

The psychological and behavioral processes that motivate a person to act in a particular way are referred to as process theories of motivation. The theories examine how a person's needs will affect his behavior in order to achieve a goal related to those needs. These theories are typically used in a workplace context and there are several theories that examine how employees within an organization can be motivated.

For this discussion, please create an employee who is displaying one of the process theories in a negative way. What is that employee doing? How is that employee acting? How is that employee's behavior affecting your workplace? For example, in the equity theory, employees who perceive themselves to be under-rewarded for their efforts will feel distress. In your post, explain how you (the manager) would solve this issue.
