Foundations of Management
A. ASSIGNMENT
Apply SWOT methodology to the company that you chose for your original case study in the course.
In order to get additional information to support your SWOT analysis, please visit the website of your company on-line. Also, use readily available online search engines that may provide you with current information on the strategic performance of the company.
You should use online material as a starting point to learn more about the company chosen for your initial case study. In most cases, the online web links should provide an extensive introduction to the company which serves as the case material for the purposes of doing your SWOT analysis. Present your findings of the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats for your company as if you were making a case statement to prospective investors of why this company is a safe or sure bet for the future.
Your written case statement should follow the following steps:
- Step I. Identify all elements of the SWOT for your chosen company and analyze and evaluate the findings and assumptions in the SWOT.
- Step II. What does your analysis of the SWOT tell you about the following?
(THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE ASSIGNMENT!)
- The strategic future of your (selected) company;
- The challenges which your company will have to overcome;
- The likelihood of long term strategic success for your company;
- Innovations that your company must make in order to remain viable and sustain its competitive advantage.
The assignment should be 800-1000 words in length (3-5 pages.)
