Week 9: Raster Data & Remote Sensing

Objectives

  • Describe what the raster model is.
  • Explain why rasters are used.
  • Incept situations which rasters would NOT be applicable.
  • List a few types of remote sensing.
  • Know if the types of remote sensing are Passive or Active.
  • List & understand the implications of the four R’s.
  • Explain the issues with Remote sensing & why they exist.

Note about R-studio Assignment (Week7)

For this week, the assignment and instructions are combined into the one rmd file.  You will need to download R and R-studio, and then you will be able to open the .rmd. You will need to know where you saved the frogs.txt file, navigate to its location in the files section of R-studio, and set the folder as the working directory. For the submission you can either edit the rmd, change the name and submit it, or you can create a new script, copy and paste the questions and answers into it and submit that, or you can copy and paste the code and output of the code into a word doc.
