Assignment Description  

You are a professional staff member working in your state government. You will be making a policy recommendation to your governor on an emerging policy issue. Each week, you will be adding content to your recommendation. Complete the following for this week:Select a public policy issue where the federal government and state or local government are in conflict.  Possible issues include the following:

  Recreational drug legalization or 

decriminalization 

 K–12 education reforms  

Same-sex marriage  

Immigration reform  

Health care reform 

Choose an issue of policy importance. State why you consider it of importance to your state.  Prepare an annotated bibliography of at least 5 scholarly sources that cover the spectrum of thought on your topic as a public policy issue.  For each source, include full APA citation and a summary (200–300 words) of the key arguments.
