Food Labels
Take pictures of two different food labels from something that you have eaten. Insert them into a document file. For each food item, write a few sentences about its nutritional value. For example:
- is it a good source of carbs or proteins or vitamins or minerals?
- is it a poor source of any of those things?
- is it high in anything that we normally try to limit, such as sodium or cholesterol or saturated fat?
- is the serving size realistic? That is, when you eat that food, do you usually consume something close to one serving, or do you consume much more or much less than that?
- is the list of ingredients short or long?
- are the ingredients mostly naturally-occurring, or are they artificial?
You don't have to answer all of the questions. Just answer the ones that seem most significant to you.
