 American policing evidently is now attempting incongruent policing models (opposing strategies; militaristic v. problem solving/community policing)?  The present era of community policing instructs police to adopt a “guardian” mindset, however, the challenges presented by acts of terrorism and mass shootings require police to be trained in techniques in line with a “warrior mindset.” Is it possible to do both successfully?
