HSO: For the duration of this course, I will focus on community hospitals, specifically those operating in rural and underserved areas. These hospitals provide essential healthcare services such as emergency care, primary care, and outpatient services. To provide a more structured and comprehensive analysis, I will use AdventHealth Hendersonville—a rural community hospital within the broader AdventHealth system—as a representative HSO for my study. This organization has implemented telemedicine services and shares many characteristics with smaller community hospitals facing similar operational and technological challenges.
To prepare:
· Review the Learning Resources on additional focused analysis tools.
· Use your research of your selected HSO and the industry to guide you in your selection of an analysis tool. You will want to complete an analysis that will yield useful information for your selected HSO leaders to use for strategic planning.
· You may select one of the other seven focused analysis tools discussed in your textbook in Chapters 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, or 17, or you may identify and use another focused analysis tool. If you select a tool that is not in the textbook, verify that it provides sufficient information to fully complete the assignment.
The Assignment: Student Selected Focused Analysis
Use the Module 3 Student Selected Focused Analysis Template to identify and complete a focused analysis of your choice for your selected HSO and answer accompanying interpretation questions. You are not permitted to select another SWOT analysis.
