Final Term Paper

The final term paper is to view one of the following movies and write about the leadership styles and traits exhibited by the characters (movies: Rudy, Gladiator, We Were Soldiers, Apollo 13, Saving Private Ryan, Braveheart, Remember the Titans, We Are Marshall, Lincoln, Coach Carter, Invictus, Band of Brothers, Gettysburg, Gods and Generals, Ghandi, Miracle, McFarland USA, It’s a Wonderful Life, Men of Honor, Schindler’s List, Seabiscuit. Other movies may certainly be used with approval of the professor).

The Introduction section is to be a synopsis of the movie, then begin to discuss the different aspects (leadership, followers, etc.) in topical sections using APA formatted headings. All expert knowledge is to be cited and referenced, supporting all points with expert knowledge. Use a Summary or Conclusion section to sum up your paper. 

Go through each week’s topics and make sure to extensively address topics presented in class as well as in the readings. Present how the movie displays leadership traits discussed in class, how their experiences heightened their leadership skills. Specify the leaders (including dark leaders), followers, and context. Also, present type(s) of leadership styles, traits, theory X and Y, OCEAN model of leadership. Also include changing context and how it affects followers as well as leaders, changes in leadership, followers, and dark leadership. Ethics and other aspects should be presented. Cite all paraphrases & direct quotes: all papers should have numerous citations to the text (and any other sources) as to how topics relate to topics discussed in class or in the text.

Final papers are to be comprehensive and exhaustive, tying class topics to the paper. As with all scholarly/professional submissions, a fully APA formatted paper is required (including title page, abstract, table of contents (using APA formatted headings), and reference page). Class topics are to be substantiated (referenced & cited) from the text and/or other sources. 

This paper needs to be around 8-10 pages.
