Final Paper Instructions 

For this assignment, you will write a 1,000 word (not including citations) research paper on a scholarly topic of your choosing. You are required to include in-text citations and a reference page with full citations for all of the sources you use for the paper. 

Guidelines for the final paper:

· The paper should be 1000 words in length (about 4 pages… not including the reference page). The paper should be no longer that 1200 words.

· Double spaced, 12pt font

· Contain at least 4 scholarly sources 

· Do not use Wikipedia! If you use Wikipedia as a source, you will lose points on the paper.

· Use APA style for the in-text citations and the reference page. You do not need to include an abstract.

· If you use someone else’s words, ideas, etc…you must either put quotes around them or paraphrase (writing what someone else said in your own words) and then give an in-text citation and a full citation in the bibliography (works cited page). Plagiarism will result in a zero for the assignment. 

· Common knowledge does not need to be cited (i.e. the earth is 93 million miles from the sun…Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776).

· If you put a source in your bibliography, it should be used in the paper. Do not include any sources in the bibliography that are not used in the paper. 

· The paper should be organized logically…Intro, body, conclusion.

· Use Standard English and grammar…no omg, ikr, lol, slang, etc. 

· Avoid using contractions (can’t, won’t, he’d)
