Film Analysis

With specific, close reference to ONE clip/scene from our W7 or W10 screenings, present your own critique of ONE of these films in your ORIGINAL review essay (4-5 pp) informed by our quarter-long discussion. You should (1) address the larger theme(s) and underlying ideology of the narrative; as well as the tone and mood; as you (2) incorporate our model for narrative analysis, and (3) your clear use of key terms and concepts to describe cinematography, editing, audio. Remember, a strong essay is one that argues a central point and has a certain perspective--including an introduction with a clearly stated thesis, body/support, and a conclusion. We have covered a lot of content this quarter, so you will need to be selective in how you apply all the conceptual tools at your disposal!
