Film Analysis 1. Family Separation

Watch the PBS special Lost in Detention (Links to an external site.), and write a one-page reflection on the conditions that undocumented immigrants are facing in the context of the US criminal Justice system. As you write, reflect on the impacts to children and families, the political conditions that have lead to the current system of detention and enforcement, and whether you think there are better ways to deal with immigration enforcement. This is a free-writing exercise, just make sure that your thoughts are deep and critical (not superficial) and that they are clearly delineated and explained.
