Read the supplement: Supply Chain Information Systems, p. 393–401.

Go to: www.sap.com/solution.html and examine the solutions for a service industry and manufacturing industry of your choice.

Answer the following questions: The response should be between 400–600 words.

Question 1

What are some of the similarities within these industries? What are the differences? (Utilize the concepts and theories to support your stance)

Question 2

If you were tasked to brief senior leadership on implementing a new ERP system, what are some of the elements that you feel are important for supply chain management that leadership should consider? Do you feel that adding an Information System will actually improve any of the organizational processes? (Utilize the concepts and theories to support your stance)

Identify the key and underlying issues (This is not a simple listing, but more of an in-depth analysis on how these apply to the concepts and theories you have learned within the course)

Develop the key facts to support the issues (This will require some thought with the expectation that you will only list pertinent data)

Discuss the solution to the problem and how to implement this to become more effective (This is an analysis of the problem within the Case Study. Also, make efforts to support your solutions with references from the textbook, readings, or other sources)

Demonstrate that you understand the topic and data by linking the theories and concepts highlighted in the textbook with your case study response
